Rhodia began trading in China in the 1970s as Rhône-Poulenc and the operation has grown exponentially over the years. Today, Rhodia coordinates its overall business in the Asia Pacific Zone (marketing and sales, R&D, manufacturing and investments) from Shanghai.

Rhodia China Co.,Ltd. is headquartered in Shanghai, from where it now monitors 17 companies - nine wholly-owned enterprises, six joint ventures, one holding company and one trading company, located in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shangdong, Beijing, and Inner Mongolia, specializing in the production of performance materials (Polyamide), functional chemicals (Novecare and Silcea) and services (Energy Services).
Rhodia’s new global R&D center is based in Shanghai, where some 150 scientists create innovative products in the automotive, electronics, home and personal care, oilfield and agricultural formulations fields.
As a global specialty chemicals leader, Rhodia aims to grow with our customers through partnerships that deliver innovative solutions to meet clients’ and consumers’ sophisticated demands.
Rhodia in Hong Kong
Rhodia began operations in Hong Kongin the 1950s, focusing on human and veterinary medicine and industrial, photographic and laboratory chemicals. The company now maintains a substantial sales office in the territory, offering a full range of our products to a wide customer base.
