Solvay announces the appointment of Philippe Rosier as President of Solvay Energy Services. This new business, born from the integration of Rhodia and Solvay, aims to optimize the energy costs and CO2 emissions both of the Group and on behalf of third parties.

Philippe Rosier, 47, is a graduate engineer from ESPCI (Physics and Chemistry in Paris) and IFP School (School of Petroleum and Engines). He also graduated from Insead (MBA). He began his career in 1988 at Rhône-Poulenc as a process engineer. He was appointed Director of Strategy of Rhodia Acetow in 1996 and Vice President of Adipic Acid activity in 1999. He was since 2002 the President of Rhodia Energy Services. Philippe Rosier is also Chairman of the “Energy” Working Group at BUSINESSEUROPE.

He is also Chairman of the Working Group "Energy Strategies and Competitiveness" of the MEDEF. In January 2009, he was appointed Member of the Economic Council for Sustainable Development, established by the French Ministry of Environment in order to lay the foundations for a new green growth.
